With Guests in Mind

We have an 80 x 120 covered arena, in actuality is closer to 76' wide due to the structural supports. The footing is a native sand/soil mix, and conditioned with Soil-Works "Durasoil," a safe polymer sprayed on for dust control. We've had excellent feedback on the footing. The railing system has 4' of wood with metal rails above. The arena is open on 3 sides to the weather and on the 4th side is the aisleway with our personal horse stalls. We have a double gate on the driveway end of the arena, and we also have a gate into our aisleway. We have very bright arena lights at both ends that do a good job of general illumination.

The arena provides great shade and may catch light winds making it comfortable most of the year, as it is angled away from the prevailing winds. However, in stormy weather, we generally get some rain/snow on the first 12+ feet of footing. In the monsoon season, daytime thunderstorms are common. During heavy rain or hail events, the arena's metal roof can be deafening. For these reasons, we typically do not rent the arena for events with horse participation during monsoon season (late June to early September).

The aisleway is 16' wide and 120' long, and is completely covered with interlocking mats. While this space is shared with our horse carts and some storage, it is mostly open for use. It makes a great place for setting up tables, displays, and buffets etc.

We keep our horses in turnout most days, making our stalls and pens available for day use as needed. We have 6 stalls and 6, 12' x 50' in-n-out pens. Depending on your group's use of the arena, you may require restroom, kitchen, and overnight housing for clinicians/leaders and participants/guests. Adjacent to the covered arena/main barn is the Mountain View Guest House. This may be rented if a kitchen and/or rest room is needed, and/or for overnight sleeping quarters. It is the most convenient location for use the of the arena. We also have a rental suite in our home, the Mountain View Guest Studio with a small bathroom and a kitchenette, and is relatively close to the arena. Additionally we offer a Log Cabin a short walk away at our neighboring property Road Runner Crossing, and a lovely rental home Airy Retreat one mile up Williamson Valley Rd. We have a large open field in the front of our property that we use to park horse trailers, RVs, cars/trucks etc. Day-parking is provided at no additional charge. While we do not have any hook-ups here, travelers are allowed to stay overnight in their trailers/RVs for an additional charge. We also allow temporary stalls/pens to be set up on property.
